The M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Medicine is taught using a combination of recorded online lectures and live virtual classes featuring full duplex audio. In addition, the Business & Pharmaceutical Ethics module (delivered in collaboration with faculty from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland) must be taken as a one-week on-site course in Dublin (October), and the Leadership & Authority module must be taken as a one-week on-site course at Harvard University in the US (June). Each online module typically runs for 16 calendar weeks and is structured as follows:
- 1 induction week
- 12 lesson weeks
- 2 reading weeks
- 1 exam week
During each online lesson week, the average workload per module is estimated as:
- Online lessons: 3 hours
- Live synchronous tutorials: 1 hour
- Private study: 3 hours
Note that typically two modules are run concurrently.
