Hibernia College's online Masters of Science in Financial Management and Control is accredited by HETAC, the Higher Education Training and Awards Council and CIMA, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. In addition, the programme offers credits towards CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) qualifications. The programme is a specialised online degree designed to prepare finance professionals to be dynamic drivers of business performance. It achieves this by providing them with the tools and knowledge to identify and report on the true drivers of business performance, enabling them to create and add value within their organisations. As such, graduates of the programme will be value creators rather than financial technicians. This programme has been formally accredited by CIMA whereby active CIMA students who hold Advanced Diploma status on entry and remain CIMA students while on the programme will be entitled, upon successful completion, to exemption from CIMA’s three strategic-level examinations and one free attempt at CIMA's TOPCIMA Part B examination.

Some other points to note:

• CIMA students will benefit from continued access to CIMA study resources, which will support and enhance their Master's study.
• Following graduation from the Hibernia College Master's programme, CIMA students have only to pass the TOPCIMA examination and secure CIMA approval of their three years of relevant practical experience to become full CIMA members (ACMA). They will then be entitled to call themselves a Chartered Management Accountant.
• This is the only third-level programme anywhere in the world to achieve such a level of recognition by CIMA.

Full CIMA members can apply for exemptions from the following programme modules:

There will be a pro-rated reduction in fees to reflect these exemptions.

Graduates wishing to enter the CII's financial services pathway will receive 60 non-specific credits towards its financial services pathway, while graduates wishing to enter the CII's insurance pathway will receive exemption from the Business & Economics unit plus another 30 non-specific credits.
