Hibernia College's online Master of Science in Financial Management & Control has been formally accredited by CIMA, whereby active CIMA students who hold Advanced Diploma status on entry and remain CIMA students while on the M.Sc. will be entitled, on successful completion, to exemption from CIMA’s three strategic-level examinations and one free attempt at CIMA's TOPCIMA Part B examination.
CIMA’s three Strategic level examinations are:
- Paper E3 Enterprise Strategy
- Paper P3 Performance Strategy
- Paper F3 Financial Strategy
This is the only third-level programme anywhere in the world to achieve such a level of recognition by CIMA.
Following graduation from the Hibernia College Master's programme, active CIMA students have only to pass the TOPCIMA Part B examination and secure CIMA approval of their three years of relevant practical experience to become full CIMA members (ACMA). They will then be entitled to call themselves a Chartered Management Accountant.
The Master's programme includes examinations which mirror the case study approach used in the CIMA strategic level and in the TOPCIMA Part B examination. Studying within the Master's framework enables participants develop the holistic and integrated perspective on Enterprise, Performance and Financial Strategies that is required to excel at TOPCIMA Part B.
To be eligible for the Strategic level exemptions and one free attempt at the TOPCIMA Part B examination, CIMA students are required to retain their active CIMA student status (payment of annual student subscription) for the duration of the Master's programme.
