Hibernia College has been shortlisted in four categories at the UK e-Learning Awards 2009, presented by e-Learning Age Magazine, the UK's leading publication for online and blended learning. Last year Hibernia College won a silver medal at the awards for its online M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Medicine and this year hopes to go one better.
The four categories in which Hibernia College has been shortlisted are: Best online or distance learning programme (for its Higher Diploma in Arts in Primary Education); Best use of synchronous e-learning; e-Learning industry award for outstanding corporate achievement; e-Learning industry award for outstanding individual achievement (for Dr. Seán Rowland, Hibernia College President).
The awards are held each year to showcase the latest developments and innovations in the area of e-learning. This year's shortlist represents a significant recognition of Hibernia College's work and achievements in the field, not just in Ireland but internationally.
Dr. Seán Rowland, president of Hibernia College commented "Being shortlisted for these awards demonstrates once again that Hibernia College is truly a world class organisation and a leader and innovator in the online education arena".
On his own personal nomination in the "outstanding individual achievement" category, Dr. Rowland commented "I am both delighted and humbled."
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London's Sheraton Park Lane Hotel on November 12th.
